Synopsis:

Abigail Baskin never thought she’d fall in love with a millionaire. Then she met Bruce Lamb. He’s a good guy, stable, level-headed, kind—a refreshing twist from her previous relationships.

But right before the wedding, Abigail has a drunken one-night stand on her bachelorette weekend. She puts the incident—and the sexy guy who wouldn’t give her his real name—out of her mind, and now believes she wants to be with Bruce for the rest of her life.

Then the mysterious stranger suddenly appears—and Abigail’s future life and happiness are turned upside down. He insists that their passionate night was the beginning of something much, much more. Something special. Something real—and he’s tracked her down to prove it.

Does she tell Bruce and ruin their idyllic honeymoon—and possibly their marriage? Or should she handle this psychopathic stalker on her own? To make the situation worse, strange things begin to happen. She sees a terrified woman in the night shadows, and no one at the resort seems to believe anything is amiss… including her perfect new husband.

My review:

Every Vow You Break really earns its tag as an addictive thriller – it’s very entertaining: fast paced, atmospheric and a lot of fun to read!

The story follows Abigail, who is just about to get married. But there’s a problem – during the hen party trip, she got very drunk and slept with a mysterious stranger. Although she feels terrible about it, she doesn’t let it derail her and her groom-to-be, Brent,’s upcoming wedding. But on the honeymoon, things start to get very strange…

I don’t want to give too much away about this novel because part of the fun is in the surprises and the twists that come along with it. You need to suspend your disbelief for a fair portion of it, but this novel really delivers a thrilling read that, although featuring lots of action, also manages to build a creepy atmosphere too that just gets more and more intense!

Really enjoyed this one and I’ve found that Peter Swanson’s previous novels that I’ve read have really delivered too, so he’s definitely a highly rated author for me when I feel like reading something fast-paced, entertaining and intense!

Rating: 4/5

Many thanks for the publisher, Faber & Faber, for providing a review copy of this novel on which I chose to write an honest review.
