[Synopsis]

You never know what’s going on behind closed doors…

If you passed it on the street, you’d see an ordinary London townhouse. You might wonder about the people who live there, assume they’re just like you.

But inside a family is trapped in a nightmare. In the kitchen, a man lies dead on the blood-soaked floor. Soon the police will come, and they’ll want answers.

Perhaps they’ll believe the family’s version of events – that this man is a murderer who deserved to die.

But would that be the truth?

[My Review]

Who Killed Ruby is a well-written, addictive read which kept me guessing until the very end. As something significant happens (I won’t say what!) the story turns into one told from dual perspectives, and I enjoyed trying to guess ‘whodunnit’ – not everyone is who they seem, but who?

I liked the fact that the story centres around on an old crime, from years ago – cold cases are always interesting to read about as you can see how they affect characters and the people still alive today – and then expands to be very much relevant today! We’re taken on a journey as we try to work out if what Vivienne remembers, as a young child, was actually true?

I really enjoyed the twists but some parts definitely required a little suspension of disbelief. However, this is a solid, well-written crime novel that will grab the reader from page one and not let them go.

[Rating: 4/5]

Many thanks to Harpercollins UK for providing a copy of this book on which I chose to write an honest and unbiased review.
